The Value of Games in Your Homeschool Tool Box

Homeschool Games

Down through history, games have been used for teaching tools. In this day and age, we tend to think of games only in the terms of amusement, but I would like for you to re-think this one. Many skills can be taught through games. From a simple concept such as learning to take your turn, all the way up to complex strategy and thinking skills can be gained.

I hear groaning. Games can be expensive, you say. Well, not necessarily. I found many games at homeschool used curriculum sales or thrift stores. Yes, sometimes a piece can be missing, but often it can be substituted. I found games on states, countries, the solar system, and even games on history that can be incorporated into the schooling tool box.

Until next time,
