What ALL Parents Pass On

Some people resist the idea of adoption because they won’t be able to pass on their genes to their child. I will agree there is an element of loss, but it is not everything.

I feel sad for those who won’t move past this loss and advance toward adoption. In reality your influence upon the child shapes them far more than their genes. The values you give your child, whether adopted or not, is the most important thing a parent can impart to their child.

If adoptive parents give their child love, acceptance, and a good set of God fearing values they will have put into them, and contributed more to them than genes could ever accomplish.
